“THE GARDEN APARTMENT”
Self-catering accommodation in Wiveliscombe, Somerset
The garden apartment is the newly converted lower level of Dene View, a country house built for the headmaster of the local primary school in 1920. The house is south facing onto 3 acres of garden which has a pond and stream and seats at a couple of points from where the garden can be enjoyed.
The apartment has one double/twin bedroom. A young child can also be accommodated. There is a small kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge (with an icebox), toaster and kettle. Continental breakfast food including tea, coffee, milk, etc. is provided for your arrival.
There is a small sitting room on the west side of the apartment with French doors leading onto a patio where the evening sun can be enjoyed whilst relaxing with a glass of wine, looking over the garden towards the hills beyond.
The internal bathroom has a bath with a powerful shower and heated towel rail. The apartment is centrally heated to enable guests to be comfortable at any time of the year.

Wiveliscombe is a small country town on the edge of the Brendon Hills, 10 miles west of Taunton in Somerset. It is a convenient town to explore Exmoor and surrounding villages, the North Devon and North Somerset coastline, with old villages of Dunster, Porlock, Selworthy , all within approximately half and hour’s drive. The town, only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the apartment, has a variety of shops catering for all the daily needs plus more interesting shops to browse around!
The Parish Church of St Andrews, St Richards Catholic Church ,and a Congregational Church are all within walking distance. There are several pubs with restaurants within easy reach and one or two may provide takeaways. A Fish & Chip Shop is also available in the town. An outdoor, heated swimming pool is a few minutes walk away and a local bus service provides transport to and from Taunton and the surrounding villages.
There are many walks around, short and long giving the opportunity to explore the relatively unknown but delightful Brendon Hills and though we provide a few leaflets there is a community office in the town where further Tourist Information can be obtained.
